Simchat Torah (October 7, 2023) is a day that will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of the Jewish people. October 7, 2023, the dark day of the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
To honor and memorialize the 1,200 beautiful lives lost, we at Chabad of North Irvine will be purchasing a beautiful Torah Cover. "Am Yisrael Chai" will be prominent in the front, and a reference to those lost will be embroidered on it.
We will use this Torah Cover on Yom Kippur and Shemini Atzeret for Yizkor, and dance with it on Simchat Torah.
We invite you and the entire community to participate in this meaningful project, as we remember our lost loved ones and continue their legacies with love, joy and Jewish unity and pride.
Any amount is welcomed. With a gift of $360 or more your name will be included in a dedication on the back of the Torah cover.
Please help us show our support and remind the world that though our hearts are broken and it has been a year of grieving, evil cannot and will not break our spirits! We need to live on for them. To do mitzvot for them, to dance for them. To bring more light, love and peace into our fractured world and in this way we will honor their memories and elevate their holy souls.
Help sponsor the Am Yisrael Chai Simchat Torah cover and events.
